We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. anyway, I don't shade/light like you... I use the Sustractive Gray ( I create a layer, where I apply grays to where I want the shadows to be, ands change the Layer style to Multiply ) and the Additive Light ( Same process like Sustractive Gray, but the layers is keep normal, I use whites and change the opacity )
that technique in photoshop allow me to create varios versions of works without the need to shade/light each one
