Seasonal shoes.

Hmm. I'm in a critiquey mood today, considering my 100 self portraits project was due today and I was analytical out the wazoo.

But anyway. I appreciate the overall cohesion between each season on the shoes: the transitions, for the most part, are very appealing and well-planned, it seems. Also, I like how you've masterfully tied in the black and white color scheme that the show already has. You've made a simplistic object quite beautiful.

However, there are some decisions that I think you could easily make better with only a few things. Really, I think these are great the way they are, so the following are only suggestions.

Spring is the weakest of the four, I feel. The bunny seems so dark and ominous, not what I expect, even as it disperses into fluttering butterflies. Maybe some brighter, more cheerful colors could help out with the connotation of spring? I also wish there were more green colors on that part of the shoe. Having a black hibiscus makes it seem a bit dead, when in fact spring is about life and rebirth in nature.

Also, the squirrel with orange threw me off a bit for summer. I think autumn. Blues or aquas might even help out the feel, seeing as the sky is blue and the weather is warm, living things are green, etc. Though I don't know what animal "personifies" summer. Maybe... a duck? A glamorous bird? Who knows.
